Top 5 Successful Leadership Traits

According to research, successful leaders have certain characteristics in common. They are patient, they are able to lead with integrity, they demonstrate a passion for their work, they make intelligent decisions, they are good communicators and they set a vision and foster a team atmosphere.

What makes a good leader?

Leadership is one of the most important aspects of any organization. It can make or break a company, and successful leaders are essential for any organization to succeed. There are many different types of leadership, but these five traits are common among the most successful leaders.

Integrity

In order to be a successful leader, one must possess a variety of traits. While there are many different leadership traits, some of the most important ones include charisma, integrity, and intelligence.
These traits help leaders inspire their followers and make the best decisions for their organization. Additionally, good leaders are able to adapt to changing circumstances and manage crisis situations effectively. By possessing these qualities, leaders can help their team or organization achieve success.

Passion

Passion is an innate quality that can be seen in leaders across industries. It is the fuel that ignites their drive and ambition. Leaders with passion are able to inspire others with their enthusiasm and create a sense of excitement around them. Passionate leaders are also more likely to be successful, as they are constantly looking for new opportunities to bring their vision to life.

While it is important to have other qualities such as intelligence and integrity, passion is one trait that can set a leader apart from the rest. It allows them to tap into their creative side and come up with innovative solutions. Additionally, passionate leaders tend to be more engaged in their work, which leads to better performance outcomes.

If you want to become a better leader, start by developing your passion for what you do.

Intelligence

Intelligence is a key component of effective leadership. Leaders with high intelligence can process and make decisions quickly, and understand complex information. They are able to see the big picture, and identify strategic opportunities and threats. Intelligent leaders are also able to inspire others with their knowledge and insights, and create a vision for the future. While intelligence is not the only attribute necessary for leadership, it is certainly one of the most important.

Communication Skills

Leadership is a critical component of any organization, yet it can be difficult to identify what traits make a good leader. Communication skills are often cited as one of the most important leadership traits. Leaders must be able to communicate effectively with their team members, superiors, and customers in order to achieve success. Good communication skills allow leaders to share their vision and goals with others, provide clear instructions, and resolve conflicts.

Communication skills are not only important for leaders, but for all employees. Employees who can communicate effectively are more likely to be successful in their roles. Strong communication skills help employees build relationships with co-workers, clients, and suppliers. They also enable employees to relay information accurately and efficiently. Effective communication leads to productive work environments and successful businesses.

Vision

Vision is often considered a critical leadership trait. It enables leaders to see beyond the present, to identify opportunities and potential threats, and to develop a plan for the future. Good vision allows a leader to inspire followers and to create a shared sense of purpose. A leader with a clear vision can help a team navigate difficult times and stay focused on their goals.

However, having a good vision is not enough. A leader must also be able to effectively communicate that vision to others. They need to be able to articulate their ideas in a way that is inspiring and motivating. And they need to be able to make sure that everyone on the team understands what they are trying to achieve and why it is important.

A great example of someone who has demonstrated strong vision and leadership skills is Elon Musk.

Which of these traits can you strengthen to increase your leadership effectiveness?

Positional Happiness?

Are you happy in your current position or do you want to continue to grow? The latter is indicative of the #growthmindset you need to succeed.

I have spent many years in various positions out of necessity and not due to being happy in the position I was in. When you are a one income family, and you are the source of financial support for the entire family, you do what you have to do...right?

Most of us have worked in jobs that were less than pleasant, less than agreeable leadership, and jobs we were not really interested in doing. You may find yourself in one or all of those positions as you read this post. So how did myself and others survive the process to reach a position or level of success that we had in our life blueprint?

1.    Professionalism- Regardless of the leadership, peers, colleagues, etc., we maintained a level of professionalism by acting and dressing for the position we were seeking in the long term. When you…

Goal to Reach

"The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." - Benjamin Mays

Yikes!!

I cannot recall who made the statement, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail," but between you and me...that haunted me for years!  I was not very good at having stated or thought out goals as a young man.  Once I hit 19 and realized I had to do something with my life, I had some overarching goals I wanted to achieve but not really a plan or strategy to achieve them.

I do find, after becoming a bit more seasoned in life, I do find goal setting, strategies and pathway development to be instrumental into achieving one's goals for their life.

What is your goal?  When was it set?  Do you have
